Stem cell research is the manipulation of cells mostly to help heal people, but you can also create clones of people and animals with it. It’s controversial mainly because people feel we’re “playing God”. Also, with the power to create clones and manipulate genes and ultimately create life from scratch, there will be a restructuring of the view on the role of families, the definition of a family, the meaning of life, etc.
